CloneDisc Questions

After configuring IMAP support on my Pi, I would like to backup/clone my setup. I tried CloneDisc which came with NutPi, but it fails each time. I get a “target error no sense” error each time after copying about 128MB. Is it possible to clone my config on the Pi, or do I need to dump it with dd on my Mac? |

“Target error: No sense” is a SCSI error, so it was ultimately generated by your USB SD card reader (that’s the piece of kit that makes an SD card look like a SCSI device). Typically, that error would indicate an attempt to read beyond the end of a disc – but the SD card reader was also responsible for reporting how big the card was in the first place, so this disagreement sounds like a fault in the SD card reader itself. The NutPi card is a bit less than 128 MB in size, so this might be an “out-by-one” type of error. One quick workaround you could try is copying the cards in the opposite direction, using whatever reader you used as the source in this case as the destination drive instead. |
