New Raspberry Pi Image?

Is there any way to download an image with RC12 and the latest firmware? If not, are there instructions somewhere as to how to turn the RC11 image into one with the latest versions of the ROM, firmware, etc.? Thanks very much. |

I posted instructions on the pi forum last week 10 easy steps |

It is simple to update the ROM, and I have seen plenty of docs on that. Not sure the disk image is available for download yet, though. |

Is there a URL for that, please? Google finds that posting, but not a previous one. |

http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=71126 What this is suggesting is to use the beta HardDisc4 image with the rc12 Pi ROM!! It is worth reading the whole thread. |

Thanks, David
Is this potentially a bad thing? |

It has the potential to be. The ROM and its associated HardDisc4 are best thought of as a pair. |

Have now read the thread. See what you mean! |

To be fair the potential for potential error really is only a potential, after all it is only a card, nothing is going to get terminally destroyed. Hint, pre-emptive CloneDisc action. I have a spare card in a USB reader so in the event of significant user error on the card in the front Pi socket, just swap the two cards over. |
