Dict not working

Has anyone got Stefan Bellon’s Dict module working on a Pandaboard? I have a version dated 29/12/2002 which falls over when you give it a word to check on the command line. The error window says something about Fatal signal received: Segmentation fault ….

Not Stefan’s version but you can download an armv7 safe version of dict 1.12 from here.
I’ve done a quick test. Seems Ok. It should be a drop in replacement for the existing version.

Just a minor snag when using Paul Sprangers’ frontend which is also called !Dict, as is the dict app wrapper. If one did the obvious and simply put the dict app into Boot:Library then there would be no problem. However if one tries to use the dict app wrapper as supplied and parks that somewhere that gets a boot then the matter of both the app wrapper and the frontend both being called !Dict and both setting the same variable Dict$Boot means that the alias Alias$dict finishes up pointing into the frontend and not the wrapper. I renamed the wrapper to !DictRes here.

After all that it does work on this Pi in ARMv7 mode. Many thanks.

Well done Chris G.! I have used just your dict module and continued with Paul Sprangers’ front end and an initial test using dict.org was successful.
