Keyboard repeatttttttttttttttttttt

The above is happening quite frequently. I’ll press a key, and it’ll repeat indefinitely until I press another key. This keyboard appears fine on my Mac & PC. It’s a wireless one, with the little USB dongle kind of thing. Is it a matter of just getting another keyboard and mouse? Cheers Garry |

Is a known issue with some keyboards. It can also be caused by a poor power feed to the Pi, so it might be worth checking that first. An iPad 2/iPhone 4 USB power adapter with a short USB lead that has decent gauge wires is known to be okay if you don’t have a vendor supplied power block. Thin wire USB cables that are meant for data only are a definite problem. |

Right, that could be it, I’ll see about getting a better adaptor. Thanks. |

This happened to me all the time too, but there is a repeat setting in the Keyboard panel under !boot. I just turned repeat completely off. This means though that you can hit backspace and hold it to delete a bunch of stuff. |

This happened to me, it turned out to be a power issue – my mouse was consuming too much power. I swapped it out for a more basic one and the problem went away. |

At the risk of sounding like an echo, it was the power supply for me too. I was previously using one from an HP TouchPad (remember those?) and replaced it with a 2 A one from RS that was advertised as being for the Pi (stock number 765-3311). |
