Hello, I just wanted to know how to zip a file in RISC OS and also, if I wanted to get the MD5 sum value of a particular file, can it be done within RISC OS, if so how? Thanks in advance. Sam. |

You need SparkFS from David Pilling.
Must be lots of places, but you can get it from http://www.wra1th.plus.com/sundry.html . Press CTRL-F12 to open a task window, SHIFT-drag MD5 into it to get its pathname, press SPACE, then SHIFT-drag the file whose MD5 value you want, then press ENTER. |

Thanks, got the MD5 working. But SparkFS, when I have created a zip file, dragged it onto the SD card, and try to put a file in, it says archive is read only. I tried changing the access rights on the zip file, but it doesn’t change. Any ideas? |

Sounds like you are using the free (read-only!) version of SparkFS. I thought the free InfoZip utility would also do what you want: http://www.starfighter.acornarcade.com/mysite/utilities.htm#infozip |
