Firefox

Could someone explain how to “install” this. I copied it over on my thumb drive, I got the “merge” part for Tinct and the Unix library it requested. I brought the FF folder over but … I can’t start it.

You can install “manually” or via !PackMan but you should not forget to set the alignment exceptions off.

I don’t have an internet connection, so can’t use !PackMan. Manually is what I need a walkthrough for.

With RPi I try PackMan, with my xM I do manually. No problems. I copy the content of the download (!Firefox) to my maindrive in my network folder.
Then I set the alignment exceptions off. For the RPI via !Configure/CPU (third option); for xM and Panda you can use this tool.
Then doubleclick !Firefox…

people who know a lot more about this than I do have strongly warned me against setting the alignment exceptions off.

I’ll just give up on the Net for my Pi for now.

I never has problems with “ae off”. The most problems are incompatible sdcards or other hardware e.g. power supplier.
I have try, firefox works also in the arm5 compatible mode on my Pi.
Why do you will use firefox? For the most things Netsurf is enough.

Sites demanding that Javascript is turned on, usually for no good reason. :(
