ADFS filesystem in a file?

Is there a tool that makes a normal ADFS filesystem inside a container file on some other filesystem? Like SparkFS but without the compression. I want to make an ADFS filesystem on a FAT32 disk without reformatting the disk. |

There is a 32bit version of XFiles. You can use a DOS image file too. Both works well under RISC OS. The OS cannot manage FileCore image files (despite the fact there is a filetype for them). It would be a good candidate for a bounty (with support of repair utilities), to transfer data or support Archiemu discs. |

Tar on its own doesn’t compress. |

I may not be understanding this, but there are ADFS ‘disc’ files. And if it is of any use SparkFS can generate zip files with no compression. I used to use these to quickly back up files onto a FAT harddisc. Is there an XFiles that works on PandaBoard? I used to use it ages ago so have some XFiles on old CDROMs. Jim |

I have one on my hard disc that should work. Send me your e-mail address at temp1267@riscos.fr. |

Thanks for all the suggestions. In the end I should have just read my own question. I wanted “SparkFS but without the compression”, so I just used SparkFS and turned the compression off. Works great. :) |
