Press and hold down the Alt key then enter the ASCII code on the numeric key pad, |=124 and \=92. |

I believe *Keyboard USA will switch to a US keyboard layout. But I can’t see a corresponding *Configure option for it listed on the wiki, so it looks like the change might be temporary :-( (Although you could add it to an obey file in your boot sequence) Internationalisation is one of the things we really need to improve at some point! |

The closest you have, if you’re not using a boot sequence (e.g. RISC OS Pico) is *Configure Country, but that has the side-effect of also changing the default alphabet, which can be undesirable for some keyboard types. So what !Configure does if you configure a different keyboard layout that way is indeed to insert a *Keyboard command into the boot sequence. Your options are:
1) Press and hold Alt and Ctrl together. |
