Can I permanantly move the icons at upper left lower down?

I’m using a Raspberry Pi B+, with an hdmi-to-vga adapter and an old 13 inch monitor. I can’t read the screen at the resolution that comes up by default. I have to set 800×600 to be able to read it. When I do the icons at upper left disappear. If I drag the icons down before I resize they fit on the desktop, but their position does not survive a reboot. How can I move these permanently? Thanks in advance for your time.

Is it a Pinboard action? Save the Pinboard before reboot (click middle mouse button on it and follow the menu).
