ZeroPain

I’ve installed RO 5.23 2015-10-03 on my Iyonix, and updated Zap and the three printing applications. Now there are only two Zeropain log entries on boot-up. Not too bad. But when I boot Netsurf (latest CI build, #2969), I get a shedload of entries, mostly at offset 00000790 in module International. (What and where is that?) Current Wimp task is always Zap. Last app to start is either <obey$dir>.mkgroups32 or AcornURI. I’m also getting a lot from <Sunfish$Dir>.!RunImage when I boot Sunfish – also at 790 in module International, current task Zap. Though I haven’t seen Sunfish AODT, as someone else wrote. |

Yes. Using zap with a zpp ROM is not a good idea. I get the same entries very regularly. Simply loading a source file into zap creates about 160 kB of entries in the ZeroPain log. I am using the modded zap module from Tank recently, but there are still problems. Other apps seem to trigger these entries even when Zap is not apparently involved. If you don’t run Zap, or use an alternative editor, all these entries disappear. |

Clearly more people need to run !Zap under ZPP so that it can be updated or the ‘Infinite Pain’ day of 1 Jan 2016 be deferred. |
