PCL printing from RISC OS

We are looking to buy a new laser printer. The more expensive models tend to support PostScript 3 which should be fine from RISC OS. Cheaper ones might only support PCL 5c or PCL 6. Can you drive these natively from RISC OS with colour output? What about controlling duplex options? We can cope with having several printer drivers set up if that’s necessary to access the different options.

I found an article from seven years ago but it’s hard to find any more recent information.

There is currently no Colour PCL support in RISC OS (beyond old PCL3 style DeskJet stuff which will not drive your Colour Laser Printer). Martin Würthner once had a PCL XL driver prototype based on Ghostscript, not sure what happened to it.

Cheaper colour lasers also tend to have significantly smaller toner cartridges and end up costing a lot more. We do the HP 200 and 400 series colour laserjets
