R Pi Zero booting issue

hi i am attempting this install for the first time so please bare with me… I imaged the latest RISC OS ( riscos-2015-02-17-RC14.img ) from the site to an SD card using Raspberry-PI-SD-Installer-OS-X-master on a Mac. The SD creation went flawlessness but putting the card into the R Pi Zero results in the Green LED flashing exactly 8 times and then pausing and repeating. 8 flashes means : SDRAM not recognized. You need newer bootcode.bin/start.elf firmware, or your SDRAM is damaged so… is there a new bootcode.bin and start.elf that i should be using? am i doing something wrong? any help would be appreciated even if it is ‘we are not there yet’ thanks |

My suggestion is to download the latest Raspian SD card image and flash an SD card with it. Copy the files BOOTCODE.BIN, START.ELF and FIXUP.DAT somewhere handy. These should be November 2015. Now flash the RC14 RISC OS SD card image. You should see some February 2015 versions of the same three firmware files in the FAT partition of the SD card. Replace these with the November versions. Now tyr booting RISC OS with this SD card. |

The important point is that you need to click on ‘Raw’ next to ‘History’ on each files own page to download the compiled version. |

Yeah! A simple ‘Download’ button would be nice! |

Go back one directory and download the zip of the whole archive then peel the boot bits out. OK, it’s somewhat bigger |
