RiscOS PICO video output

Hi all, A quick search on the forums/net yielded nothing so I thought i’d ask… Just made an SD card with PICO on it for testing, and everything’s ok except for the video. it seems that it defaults to composite. usable and ‘retro’ but i’d like to change that to hdmi. Is it just a simple matter of adding hdmi_safe=1 to the config.txt on the card? Also, the RPiconfig page does not seem to document the fake_vsync_isr parameter. What exactly does it do? thanks |

Hi Chris, Monitor output is not set in the config.txt on the Pico SD. I added the line hdmi_safe=1 to it last night, and now it boots on the HDMI monitor. It might have something to do with my HDMI to VGA adapter where the Pi doesn’t see the adapter as an HDMI connected monitor and the implicit hdmi_force_hotplug seems to have done its job. Now, IIRC when it was booting on the composite output, it booted straight into the system and basic. (I’ll try it when I get home tonight). Having it hooked to the HDMI, it boots, but sits at a _ prompt, until I press thanks |

Glad to hear you now have a display on HDMI.
Most adapters we’ve tried have been seen by the Pi correctly as an HDMI display. But there are exceptions to most rules! Sorry I can’t help about the prompt. |
