US keyboard and Pico SD

I recently started to play with RiscOS on the PI, (to be more specific the Pico SD). It seems that the system defaults to a UK kybd, so things like @ " are in the wrong place for a US keyboard. From the BASIC prompt (>) I do a quit to the * prompt, then issue ‘configure country usa’. But the keys are not remapped. IF i go back to basic though it now has a US keyboard. Mostly. Can anyone shed any light on this? thanks |

That’s strange. I just tried it here by giving the command The British layout does not have the \| key between Enter and Backspace. The function of this key is replaced by the #~ key to the left of Enter (doesn’t exist on US keyboards). Our \| key is to the left of the Z key (doesn’t exist on US layouts). Taking these differences into account, Does it do the same thing in regular RISC OS (not just Pico)? |

Certainly not when set from the GUI. I’m not at home right now so I’ll need to defer to Alex for whether Configure Country has the same issue. |

If the pico is using mode 7, then in the teletext font those keys are shown as fractions, or certainly backslash was on a bbc micro |

Ah, brilliant call there Mike. Just tried it on my Pi in MODE 7 and that’s exactly it. |
