Power management ROM image for A4

Hi all, I am looking for details or a disk image of the Power management extension ROM found in the Acorn A4 laptop (which content includes the battery management module AFAIK). Size and model of the chip.. CPU address range where to read from RISC OS. Thank you for any info on this, |

Maybe I have the parts you need. My a4 is damaged but I mean this was not the powermanagement. I have the most parts “on stock”. In the old case is now working a BeaglexM. |

As I recall the extension ROM just contains the Portable module, which isn’t in the RISC OS 3.10 ROMs. If you fit a set of 3.11 ROMs in two-chip format (eg from an A3010/3020/4000) then that should provide all you need. There is also the BatMgr app, but it isn’t strictly necessary to use that since the A4 has a battery gauge on the front anyway. I don’t have a copy of the ROM image to hand, but suspect you could build the Portable module from sources in the ROOL tree. |

If someone feels like trying this, the Portable sources are here and BatMgr here – although you should probably be careful with which revision of the sources you use (One of the BatMgr commits is “This component has been used for experimentation. It is not used in any product currently.”). |
