LAN Audio / RTP

I have a number of uses for audio on RISC OS, including such things as SDR (software defined radio). Using a Pi2, it would be nice to have I2S for Pi Addon audio boards like Wolfson/Cirrus. But, alas, there’s currently no RISC OS I2S (nor is there RISC OS USB audio for Pi). Not wanting to give up, I thought about RTP for audio over LAN, and using an audio distribution system to feed RISC OS Pi and Pi2 clients. Normally you would use PulseAudio on Linux for both ends of that sort of pipe. Since there’s no Pulse app for RISC OS, I looked for an alterrnative, and found a Drobe article from 2007 that describes an RTP RISC OS client for VoIP. The article fades in Oct/2007 while not giving indications about eventual success. Does anyone know whether or not this has been subject of further development? |

An alternative might be Columbia uni’s RTPtools kit – Posix source, I suppose. Anyone tried it with RISC OS? |
