RISCOSPi and RTC

Hi,

I’m quite new to the RISCOS scene, so first greetings to all ! (I did not see any presentation thread, so let just say that I’m another french guy discovering this great OS).
I’ve dedicated a Raspberry B+ to the use of RiscOS, and hooked it to an old TV, with no network, in my “retrocomputing room” (no offense).
Recently, I bought a PiFace RTC and installed it into my Pi. I was naive enough to think that just entering the “configure” menu to set the time manually was enough to have my RTC work.
Unfortunately, on the next day I realized that the clock was stuck to yesterday. Having browsed this forum in search of answers, I think it might ressemble the “stuck to last shutdown date” syndrome.
I tried a snippet of BASIC code that uses the RTC module, but the SWI call is not even recognized (RTC_Read).
After doing a “ROMModules” I found out that the RTC module was stated as ‘Dormant’.
I tried then to do a “*RMInsert” with no effect on the module.
Could someone tell me if the module was superseded by another one ?
Any suggestion on how to make this work would be greatly appreciated.
Btw, I’m using ROOL RC14 for the Pi.

Welcome Jerome,

not all RTCs are working with RISC OS. Different chipset etc.
CJEs has any working on stock. Is better you use one of this.

Sure, and your website already helped me when I tried my dreamblaster module on Risc OS, so I’m now on the mailing list …

I just had a look to CJE’s website and will probably place an order.

Good choice. If I had to I would buy it again (the RTC + temperature sensor version of course).
