1600 x 900 screen on Pi Model B

Hi all, I’ve a Pi model B, coupled to a Dell P2014H monitor. The upper maximum screen size it can manage is 1600 × 900. I’ve been using it with the RasPi-Builtin screen options, generally 1920 × 1080 @ 72Hz (lots of space, but blurry and hard on the eyes). I’ve gone through all the screen definitions in Configure but none have a 1600 × 900 @ 60 Hz mode. I am loathed to start editing MDF files – so wondering if anyone has tackled a similar issue with success that can point me in the right direction? Many thanks |

Try using AnyMode and *Wimpmode X1600 Y900 C16M |

Thank you Michael. I was initially getting a “This mode is unsuitable for displaying the desktop” error (or similar). I found the module in Predesk (already installed) and double clicked it – then it worked without problems. Not sure why it didn’t work first time – as predesk modules are executed during boot up, so I thought. Very nice to be using a stable, easy-to-read widescreen mode. Thank you again. |
