Hello,

Does anyone know alternate contact details for Spellings.net?

I purchased AemulorPro from RaspPi early last week, and still no one will get back with a download that includes my machine ID.

The demo is about to expire, and I’m starting to wonder what is wrong with the market?! It’s a bit extreme to have to go to a public forum to ask for commercial support. Especially as the Aemulor forums have an SQL error whenever you try to create a post.

Highly frustrating.

Many RISC OS companies are one-man bands. Some handle the inevitable communication balance better than others.

Matt: AIUI it is all automatic (Well it is for us as a dealer but I think it works the same way for everyone!). To buy you have to create an account, once you have bought a link will appear in ‘MySoftware’!

Will give it a try on the Pi. Perhaps downloads from my Linux box and sending it via Samba is screwing something up.

The download is a zip file. Copy the zip file to RISC OS and unzipped it their. If it extracts O.K. it is very rarely corrupt. What RISC OS error message do you get?

Chris – If I download the zip from Windows/Linux/ROS5 Pi/ROS6 RPC and extract with SparkFS or SparkPlug the following error. The demo works fine.

If you’ve miss typed the mac address when buying, I think that might be the error you get!
If you need to have the mac addressed changed only spellings can do that, for obvious reasons.

Did you use the spellings.net utility to read the MAC address. Just reading it with somthing like ifconfig gives a different address which does not work.

MAC address in downloads is listed as 00000000000…. when I purchased there was NO option for entering a MAC address.

Mmmm I didn’t think it possible to buy a copy without entering a MAC address, you’ll need to wait for Spellings to respond.

Well I have emailed directly and to neil@. Not terribly nice, but polite.

Basically no one has got back to me, it’s pretty bad given the time involved. The demo has expired, I still cannot use the software. So in 48 hours I’ll lodge a complaint for a refund.

IIRC You normally get an answerphone but they do respond to messages, though not always quickly.

Sad that it takes a bit of a threatening email.

All sorted. It appears the Spellings MAC change system was not notifying Neil so it all broke down a bit.
