Mount DOS formatted disc images

Cross posting from Stardot… (http://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11158&p=138357#p138357) Basically my floppy drive is knackered, but I now have a working 486 PC card. I’ve tried booting from a DOS floppy/CD image set as a DOSFile and !PCPro just tells me it’s not bootable. ADDFS seems to only mount ADFS floppy images, not DOS. Does anyone know of any software that mounts DOS floppy images as a filesystem (preferably ADFS::0/1, as with CDFaker) that I can parse through to !PC? I can mount away on VirtualAcorn/RPCEmu/etc, but not pass them through to !PC |

It’s been a long time, but I vaguely recall that you need to add a suffix/prefix to the data in the DOSDisc file for !PC to see it as a valid disc image. Try making a 1MB empty image with !PC and looking at the contents. I’ll be something like 8 bytes longer than 1MB. Don’t forget that CD images are ISOs, they aren’t FAT images, so !PC can’t boot them as DOSDiscs. You can probably boot one as a CD drive though (I can’t remember if you need to mess about with CDFaker to turn an ISO into a CD drive that !PC can see). |
