New TV and PI2 Issue

Hey everyone I got a new Samsung TV and my BeagleBoardxM works great with it. My Pi2 does not. I think it might be an interference issue. Have tried multiple HDMI cables and even my old Pi Model B. If I move the PI away from the tv a bit the screen is OK until I move the Pi and the. The screen goes blank. Worked great with my old TV. Can anyone explain what is going on here? Do I need HDMI cable with a ferrite core? I find it strange that my laptop and BBxM are fine with the same cables. |

Have you tried messing with the config_hdmi_boost setting in config.txt? I have to use that to get one of my monitors to pick up a signal from the Pi. |

I can get a signal but moving the Pi around causes the tv screen to go blank. I wonder if it could be the TV’s wifi signal. |

That did help. I can now operate it behind the tv instead of in front of my keyboard. Many thanks for that one! I’m going to see how stable it is now. Thanks Jeffery! |

And it’s back.. I tried increasing the config_hdmi_boost settings.. next will be some better cables I guess. |

I’ve had an HDMI cable with an intermittent contact. Bend the cable near one end, holding the connector so that it moved very little against the connector, and the signal would come and go. A replacement cable fixed it (of course!) |

Problem is solved. It needed the ferrite cores on each end. Luckily Amazon has them for just under $7USD. I can wave the Pi up and down and left and right and no screen interuption. Cable is about 2x the normal thickness and is made by Monoprice. |

Whilst the ferrite cores may help a bit I suspect the other cables weren’t screened and that was the main problem. Without taking the cables apart we will never know for sure! |
