Perhaps an alteration of the Ctrl-Break to Ctl-Alt-Break is in order:

I dunno. Without third party additions, Ctrl-Break is rather…instant. On a PC, the three-fingered salute may pop up options or the system status tool or… if and when Windows is good and ready to deal with the issue. Certainly it would be a surprise to have the user press that combination to kill what they think is an errant task, only to watch the machine reboot! |

Even the Shutdown via Shift-Ctrl-F12 or Task Manager menu doesn’t allow a change of mind which I think is a pity. Perhaps this could be added to any thoughts about reboot methods and their desired avoidance? |
