StrongEd Manual

Does anyone know where I can find a manual for StrongEd?

The StrongEd page on the iconbar site is referenced in many places but it in turn links to a page on 4qd.org that’s been hacked – don’t attempt to go there if you have javascript enabled.

The Manual ‘can be opened by clicking Menu over the iconbar icon and selecting ’Help…’’ :)

It would be nice to see that broken link/misleading info taken down from the iconbar though as it’s, quite rightly, a trusted resource for RISC OS info. I’d report it myself but I have a proscribed email address.

The author of StrongED is around these forums and will probably pick up on the problem, or you could use the direct link to Fred’s address listed on the StrongED contact page.

The link to the manual has been broken for a while now. I do have a copy here so I can send it to you if you want. Mind you, the manual was last updated in 2000 so in places it’s behind the times with how StrongED works now (it is also unfinished).

The StrongHelp manual that Richard has pointed at is the most up-to-date source of information but it’s more a reference manual than a tutorial. You might want to consider joining the StrongED mailing list so that you can that ask any (and all) questions there.
