This advice is not on your website nor in the ReadMe file inside Upgrade8H. It is on my ‘to-do’ list. A fair criticism – I do need to expand the readMe file, alter the CMOS to specify a neutral screen mode such as 1024 × 768 for the desktop and explain a bit more on my web site. |

The CMOS file supplied in Update8H has the configured mode set to 7 It is now set to 28 and the ReadMe file has been expanded to explain about the *Configure MonitorType and *Configure WimpMode commands. |

To somebody suffering the Memory cannot be moved error, can you please try a reset after RMKill RTC I found that I was getting the ‘memory cannot be moved’ error on a set up where the IIC bus was giving (very) occasional errors due to some sort of hardware problem. (I think it was very fine single core wires flexing and nearly breaking.) Some time between clicking ‘restart’ and the GPIO module being restarted during rom initialisation [which on the set up I was using would have removed power as GPIO 4 went high impedance rather than outout high] I would get the ‘memory cannot be moved’ error with mouse, keyboard and machine all frozen. I would therefore look at the error handling of an IIC error during rom initialisation. |
