Tidying up and removing icons on desktop: can it survive a reboot?

Hello there,

I was trying to move icons, tidy up them and delete some of the icons on my desktop. I can do it, but the deleted icons are back after reboot etc…
What can I do to make desktop icons changes definitive and permanent?

You need to save your changes after you’ve made them. Click the Menu button over the Pinboard (desktop), go to the Save menu entry and click OK on the little dialogue box next to it. That should retain any changes for next time.

Do you know how can I create a direct acces icon to a given folder and add it to the desktop? I just can’t find how to do those daily things.

Drag the directory (or file) to the desktop … and then save.
RISC OS makes far more (and better) use of drag’n’drop than some other systems.
