Hi all, I decided to update to the latest BETA rom (2017-06-08 08:41:14) since I do it periodically, and I found today’s latest rom only gives me a black screen. Thanks! |

What was the date of the last one you had working? Knowing what changed would help people suggest what you need to amend in your setup to get the new ROM working. |

@Steve: I don’t know, somewhere from april… but I don’t know for sure :( |

This is not going to help much but Pi Beta ROM 2017-06-08 is good in my RPi3. (My previous ROM was 16 Apr 17.) |

@dave_j: that somehow helps because at least I know the problem is on my side. But I don’t have any strange modules loaded or anything… |

Have you updated the firmware to match and turned off GPU mode change support? Create !Boot.Loader.CMDLINE/TXT with disable_mode_changes in it. I had the same issue on a Pi2, although don’t recall if it was EDID or something else that was causing it as I changed so many things trying to fix it. It would show the Firmware POST screen, then hang during the RISCOS POST on a blank screen. |

@JOn: I am already using disable_mode_changes in cmdline.txt, it’s the best for ADFFS usage :) |

I’ve uploaded a complete working Loader to the JASPP FTP site (CPU folder), see if it works after you’ve changed CONFIG/TXT to set the correct resolution – currently 720p @ 50hz. Firmware is 12-06-17 and RISCOS is 08-06-17 with BootFX unplugged. |

@Jon: Everything is working fine now, thanks! |

I upgraded yesterday to RC15 and it was ok (except for the pinboard menu to is open in the middle of the desktop). I then upgraded to rom of 08-Jun-17, black screen with giant hourglass during boot but desktop is ok (and no pinboard menu). I guess that during boot it is in low resolution, though even so I would have expected to see some text on screen. |
