Sums up my feelings when everybody goes all wave the George cross for The World Cup, except my list of “things I’d rather do” would look like:

Only marginally higher level of interest and a similar number of inane characters who seem to at least have the excuse that they clearly spent too long heading wet footballs earlier in their lives. |

Meanwhile I haven’t been able to see it yet because YouTube fell over and the stream is currently showing an error page! Hopefully it’s up and running by the time I get home from work because it’s painful having to avoid any site that might spoil the result… The only reason I could even risk looking at this thread is because the “last post” time is before the contest ended. |

That would probably be people looking for YouTube feeds of the stuff in the news – which you’re probably avoiding.
Ummm, broke that. |

It’s not YouTube. There was an incident and the stream of the contest (and the song affected) have both been taken down. Grrr… If you can tolerate Swedish commentary, you may be able to watch it at https://www.svtplay.se/video/17754471/eurovision-song-contest-2018/eurovision-song-contest-2018-final-final |

Well that ended up being… well, in my opinion, not a reason to sweep the whole thing under the rug. But thanks for the Swedish link, although “tolerate” is certainly the right word given how much they blathered over the top of the hosts! Edit: I didn’t actually realise what he was saying at the time. I’ve since seen an article about it so I can see the issue, but you’d think just muting the sound for a few seconds would be better than pulling the entire show offline. |

For what it’s worth, the Grand Final has returned to YouTube. It has SuRie’s performance replaced with a different one. I’m half-tempted to have a play in Final Cut and merge the BBC video in there to make an uncut version for posterity, but honestly I have better things to do :P |
