EPROM emulator

Does anybody have an unloved/unwanted EPROM emulator that is capable of pretending to be a 2764 (8KiB) device?

What do you need it for?

I have a device that has its firmware on an 2764 and I’d like to try hacking around with that firmware. As you can probably imagine, it’s an ancient bit of kit to hold all its firmware in 8K.
No, it’s not a BBC Micro – I could test ROMs for that on any of the many emulators. This is something that, to my knowledge, no hardware level emulator exists (or if it does, not on any platform that I have).

If I go back 30-odd years, I remember the existence of an (E)PROM programmer and emulator called the Softy S3. If anyone kept one all those years, the NiCads must surely have leaked and wrecked it long ago.
