A UK company owned now by Japanese supports Trump’s idiotic economic warfare on China !? Come on…Link here |

Um, if they don’t care about selling into markets where they would be taken to the cleaners for IP violation? Edit: They being Huawei, not ARM |

They don’t have a choice – Trump is a believer in the Bush style of diplomacy… You’re with us or you’re with the bad guys. Google have ditched them, as well as Intel and Qualcomm. https://thenextweb.com/plugged/2019/05/20/what-trumps-huawei-blacklisting-means-for-you/ It’s a bullshit trade war, nothing whatsoever to do with “security”, and it’s basically a protectionist country flexing it’s muscles and forcing everybody to pick sides. |

Huawei have a great lead in 5G so lets make up some security concerns and play on “Make America great again” supported by a bunch of companies that have failed to compete. Yes we should be concerned about security but I’d be also concerned about America’s right to have all our data and “legally” hack our devices if they get their way. |

Software back-doors are certainly not a Chinese invention! I remember when we could leave ours open overnight! Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be! Depuis longtemps ! |

What d’you mean if ? All it needs is some lower ranking district court judge to decide to ignore international treaties and the idea that sovereign countries have their own legal systems, and simply decide “all your base are belong to us”. In other words – is hacking and data |

It’s all rather depressing:-( |

What can you expect when the guy in charge seems to think an abortion…. no, just watch the video. And feel free to shout at the screen. That’s the level of intellect we’re dealing with. It’s not depressing, it’s frightening. |

Your probably more than half right there, especially with Trump, but the States are right to be seriously concerned by their cyber security:: China has stolen the plans of the F35 fighter plane, more recently hacked into a defence subcontractor’s computers (something related to missile tech IIRC), Chinese “students” are regularly arrested for spying military bases and high tech enterprises, there is the tiny spy chips in server motherboard rumours . Also China is not worth our pity. Companies like Huawey are just tools for the communist party to reinforce itself and promote China to the superpower of the 21st century. If such a Chinese company goes bust because of trump’s actions I can only applaud given the air rising stories I keep hearing. On the internal side: On the international side: |

I’m really disappointed with the pronunciation. In my view it should be: “Who are we?”. That might provoke a bit of thought. Myself I wouldn’t trust China or the USA – but the latter does have a proven history of duplicity, and that was before its elected leader was a lunatic. Mark you, who are we to express such an opinion? Let he who is without … |

I’m really disappointed with the pronunciation. They had a corporate booking for invited guests at the GBBF a few years ago and believe me you really, really don’t want to do that pronunciation. They went to great lengths to inform us of the correct version and check it was being used. Not that the info stopped a collection of “who-are-we!” chants using imitation five-year old voices in the Corporate office at closing time. |

I don’t get why China needed to steal stuff when the West was only too happy to send all the details over there to “get it made cheaper”. Plus, it’s not as if China isn’t capable of building their own planes.
As opposed to American silicon running an embedded Minix below the level of the OS, hypervisor, BIOS, etc and with full access to the network port and the ability to hide both itself and data to it coming in the network port.
Apple, Intel, Google… America. As I pointed out on my blog ages ago, both Apple maps and Google maps recognise “Palestine” as a place a little to the right of Israel, but you won’t find anything on the map that actually says “Palestine”.
I can’t. I’m not pro Chinese, I think the country is a purveyor of an incredible amount of worthless landfill; however this whole issue is nothing to do with rights or secrets or security. That’s all a smokescreen to cover the fact that America has been caught sleeping at the wheel. Personally, I think both Trump and Brexit are symptomatic of the same malaise – that is, the angry white guys starting to realise that the rest of the world is no longer listening to them. And if they’re not listening, they’re not dependent, and that scares the angry white man who is so used to bossing everybody around. China’s tech is up and coming. And this scares America. But I can’t applaud any company going bust (on either side) because I know damn well exactly which suckers will eventually pick up the tab…it’s you and me. We’ll be worse off for this stupid trade war.
Do you have a source? And is that deaths by country or by capita. It’s very important, as the USA population is about 327 million, China is about 1.36 billion. So if “by country” China’s execution level was four times that of America, per capita it would still be less than the US.
An interesting concept with so many hidden nuances. Is throwing a milkshake at a professional troll/habitual liar/cockwomble a “good” act or a “bad” one? All this said, China has never pretended to be the shining beacon of justice and liberty for all the world to appreciate. There’s a lot wrong with China, certainly, but don’t delude yourself that America isn’t an incredibly screwed up place where it’s sort of okay for so called police officers to fatally shoot unarmed black people. We’re talking about trade wars and the possibilities of hardware as spyware. Let’s stick with that as neither of the two countries are even remotely clean and free from plentiful criticism.
Me too, I always pronounced it like America’s 50th state.
Oh my. Which one? Nixon? Reagan? LBJ? Either Bush? The current incumbent? [edit: wait, aren’t they all Republican?] [edit 2: but then Trump probably won because the Democrats managed to field an even bigger lunatic] |
