Notepad in Win10 1903 copies RISC OS

I suspect someone at MS has been using RISC OS – Notepad (alone, out of all windows apps) has been updated to put a * in the title bar when a document is unsaved.

Although I haven’t tried it, it also looks like it’ll play nicer with carriage-return/linefeed stuff too.

Has someone been using !Edit?

The same does Gedit on Linux. So it is nothing special.

Maybe gedit copied RISC OS then! :P

The use of an asterisk has been fairly standard in many apps across all platforms for several years, I’m afraid.

But the RISC OS WIMP pre-dates most of them?
