The underside of my day-to-day mug says “Made in England” carved into it. Also, on the opposite side of the circle, what appears to be “YAMS” or “JAMS”

Not sure if this is the same seller or not, but CJE bought a couple of mugs with a very similar “back story” from a seller on eBay a while ago and they turned out to be really poor quality copies! You could clearly see JPEG artifacts in the text!

So, buyer beware!

Yep, that’s one of the things that made me suspicious – there are really rough edges to the Archimedes logo and the text is very rough too, looks like it’s “printed” straight from a JPEG. Pity, I quite fancy a new/old Acorn mug.

I’ve never had an Acorn mug :-( but I do have a few ARM ones, that I know are genuine because I got them when I was working at ARM. Including one that is now completely white, all the design having simply worn off over the years. Where ARM got that batch from I don’t know.
