Anyone using Messenger Pro on macOS 10.15? Run OK? Got other apps to sort so not intending to update yet but for future reference. |

I haven’t tried on Mac (am not a mac person), but there’s a 64bit version which should mean that it passes the first hurdle for the latest Mac OS. The only slight fly in the ointment was that there was talk of them enforcing app-store acquisition, rather than allowing installation from downloads or other media. I’m hoping this hasn’t been enforced, as the other requirements for being on the Apple store might be problematic. |

Nope, nothing like that has been enforced. However, from Jan 2020, apps do need to be notarized when sold outside of the App Store. In practical terms, it’s not usually a big deal in itself. https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=09032019a |

I get the impression (maybe wrongly) that even then one will be able to run un-notarized/unsigned apps but will need to force it via the ‘Open’ option or terminal. I think it’s just the 64 bit thing, really. Some applications I have seen which are supposedly 64 bit have 32 bit dependencies, which is the spanner. |
