¹ I predict that, as of now, absolutely everything it’s going to be “because Brexit”. Things that go right, things that go wrong, and things that clearly have no connection whatsoever. It’ll all be because of Brexit.

You know it’s only just beginning, right? It’s crazy to think that it’ll be possible to satisfactorily undo 47 years of integration in 11 months; especially when you have the populists pandering to the masses with statements like there will be no alignment, which implies a “special” set of conditions that the rest of the EU might simply not accept.
Remember, also, that the UK chose to leave the EU. They weren’t expelled. Therefore it isn’t really up to the EU to “be nice” or make special concessions they wouldn’t offer to other member states. The UK already had that and choose to walk away.

I don’t think the word “properly” is followed by the correct words.

“Properly [insert here] things up” is the proper phrase. Pretty soon even the brexit crowd will be filling the blank with something that is unsuitable for mixed company.
