Disc broken – ie only part plays. Can it be copied? Tried playing with Win10 same results as DVD player. Thanks |

Also try MakeMKV in Windows or Linux (& MacOS?) to see if it can extract the files. |

Also AnyDVD (windows) can create an ISO of a DVD including handling any (purposely) corrupted sectors. I’ve read reports of people having success with saving some discs with manufacturing defects (premature degredation) this way, but haven’t tried myself (Warner Bros replaced some of my degraded HD DVDs with Blu Ray versions, thankfully). Heavy scratches/cracks may well cause too many errors, but there’s also the “toothpaste method” (google it) which can be useful for trying to get scratched discs to play. I’ve had success with that once with a charity-shop DVD, but it hasn’t worked in two other cases. |
