Still haven’t got !ftpc working though 8~( and the old NAS, while working, has one drive “degraded” – I’ve replaced the drive it said was degraded, and now it’s refusing to “repair” it, which it says you should do after replacing a drive. I may be failing to understand the instructions, they seem pretty confusing…Synology DS212+… |

Synology NAS boxes usually detect the replacement drive and offer to add it into the drive array. It can take a several hours depending on drive size and amount of used space and the box should remain powered up for the duration. I run a couple of Synology and a QNAP here with four drives in each in hybrid RAID mode. |

That’s what I assumed. After I’d replaced the drive it reported a defect on, it asked me if I wanted to do a parity check, so I said yes, and it did that – took about 7 hours (2.8 TB). Now it’s saying “defect” still, running and serving okay, but telling me to repair after I’ve replaced, but clicking on Repair does nothing. It’s only got two drives – both the same size, and apparently full, although whether that’s just the drive that stayed put with the new one unused, I don’t know. |

Are they mirrored or striped (RAID 1 or RAID 0)? What does a SMART test show for each drive? Is the new drive showing up as part of the RAID array? |

SunFish connects OK to the macos nfs server. To configure on macos, Add to /etc/exports E.g.
You may need to run, sudo nfsd restart for it to take affect. showmount -a to show connected mounts. Type id to get the uid and gid for the -mapall. |
