This morning a rapper was interviewed on Swedish public radio about his new song “f*&k up the malloc!”. The message of the song was to inspire the listener to go their own way, not to be stuck in traditions and old patterns and ways of doing things for the sake of it. Essentially: there are modern programming languages, you don’t have to learn C to be cool! C was, I guess, both an example of and a metaphor for old bad habits. It was quite a powerful beat, but unfortunately it was just a dream I had. … I may have been programming too much C of late… |
