Yay Audiograbber

I’m using Audiograbber 1.83 (the free one) on my PC to rip some CDs so I can merge them into my phone’s playlist.

Since I’m lazy, it’s useful to bounce a request off the freedb music database rather than typing in all the titles by hand.

Only… it has gone. The main page is now a note saying that the original hosts are closing it down (after ~14 years) and it has moved to https://gnubd.gbudb.org/

Which means I’d need to fiddle with Audiograbber to get it to point to the correct domain. “gnudb” is shorter than “freedb”, so a simple patch ought to work.

But before loading up the hex editor, I had a quick shufty in the .ini file. And there it was towards the bottom. Simple change there and… okay, the menus still refer to freedb, but whatever, it works.

So, yay. That was a pleasingly simple fix.
