That sounds a bit like Apple’s transition to powerPC. That experience caused our company to abandon Apple in favour of Windows. It wasn’t that the hybrid code was worse than Windows of the time, but the users weren’t used to their Macs crashing, so every time it happened, they called the IT department. The new manager looked at the rate of calls and decided to switch, against the wishes of most users. As a result we went from one person supporting 100 Macs part-time, to 4 people supporting 100 PCs full-time. |
