Exponential growth

It is fascinating to see the public trying to grapple with the concept of exponential growth (no. of daily Covid cases).

We are now on book 2 – the sum of two separate exponentials (let’s call them Delta and Omicron) which are growing at different rates.

Extrapolating the graph showing the proportion of cases that are Omicron I see that we will soon be way above 100%.

Of course it isn’t really exponential growth, for that very reason.
