And even more typical, it was mainly the supporters of the winning team.
Coming from someone who ranted endlessly about Brexit whenever it was mentioned here (or even when not mentioned at all), I find that statement mildly amusing. |

You think that was a rant? I would find that mildly amusing, but emotions… |

Well if you substitute EU for Westminister then isn’t that what Brexit meant for some. Scotland wanting their own break from the UK set up is not dissimilar, in my view, but some see it as bad the UK left the EU whilst others see Scotland leaving the UK as OK on the same basis. Just as I was saddened we left the EU then I would be saddened if Scotland choose that route only to substitute one set of constraints with another but I see the counter to that as being you have to make it worth investing in a joint enterprise and thats why I think some reform of that Union is required just as the EU could of done more on that front to stop the vote going the way it did. As to those who didn’t have a vote then my view is simple if you are in the UK at the time or it is a short term absence then get a vote and I equally would say tough to those Jonny englanders who say those who have just come to the country shouldn’t have a vote or be entitled to support or medical help as it works both ways. Despite a lot of things the Uk is a great place to live, in my view, and I say that as someone who’s family came to this country and I can see why so many want to come to it and live and contribute so much to it as many have over the years to our joint benefit which seems lost on some who wish to drive division and hatred. Any way even the Federation broke up and shattered the Star Trek view of the future but hopefully someone can come along a show the real benefits of mutual endevour and support to a good common cause. |
