Crime?

Sine Nomine has just released a program to fetch crime statistics to apply to a map (see announcements). Ash/Ash Vale/Ash Wharf (where I lived in the UK before coming to France): Yateley (where I grew up): Aldershot (the town that named this forum): I spent a year in Bridgwater and it seemed like an okay place. Clearly it’s gone downhill as… To put this into context, Birmingham: These figures are for May 2023. Yikes. Despite the site being “Police.UK”, there’s no information for Glasgow… 😂 |

Are those absolute values, or per capita? |

If everyone in Ash Vale is committing 61 crimes per month, the place has really gone downhill :-) (I think you probably meant “per 1,000 population” or “per 10,000 population”) |

There are locations where it’s tempting to believe that it is per capita. I worked with a guy some years ago who recommended erecting an electrified razor wire fence round Wood End (no gates, no deliveries), and dealing with the ones that survived for more than 6 months |

That’s probably because Police.England&Wales haven’t yet realised that they’re not really Police.UK. |
