Absolutely, of course. I now even understand why they might, although of course there could be other reasons.
Probably – I certainly do. I’d never notice “Recent Posts” – or perhaps had, and forgotten about it having found no use for it. I have “Forum” bookmarked, but I can see that on a tiddly screen “Recent Posts” might be more convenient. |

That and having pinned the main forum page. |

It’s bookmarked on my phone. When the page appears, I flick down to a message I remember, then read the list backwards to see what’s new. There’s Clive’s thirty seconds. Exactly this.
There’s a strong sense of “I’m alright, Jack” in this thread… |

Sorry if that’s the impression given; it’s certainly not intended. I for one simply didn’t understand the problem – I do now. Also sorry that it’s really not in my power to do anything about it. |

I don’t read the forum from a phone and only use recent posts. You can’t flick through the posts you don’t want to read without getting the gist of them so you can’t ignore them. So when some ‘existential’ discussion is going on I switch off for a few days until it goes away. When the signal to noise ratio goes up I show more interest. Not a problem just stating how it affects my interest in the site. |

Do the math on how to become a minority in the “country” you live, and the international agreements nobody here signed on to, so that’s the picture we’re in. A good hard look at “what everybody knows” is a usable antidote to the insidious Orwellian brainwashing. That’s my tuppence. |

Help, help, we have Douglas Adams disciples in our midst! He was a Mac abuser! Aldershot* indeed there old geezer.. 8) *Weren’t Apple (in)directly implicit in Acorn Ltd’s totally untimely demise? |

Seriously, wasn’t Arm Ltd. partly formed because Apple Inc. wanted an Arm CPU in their totally flopped “Newton PDA” while Acorn planned their NewsPad which afaik had a touchscreen interface and stuff? Prototype “NetPad”? Killing Acorn Ltd. was a Corporated Crime in my book. It was a very creative environment not paranoid enough to protect itself from a predatory owner structure by coming up with good mass-marked product ideas. |
