Bed bugs

Right now I’m hanging out in the lobby of a local hotel, while a pest control company is treating our house for bed bugs. This is already our second treatment, the first was about three weeks ago. I wondered, has anyone else here had to deal with these? According to the news they’re becoming much more common in the UK, london (where I live) is apparently especially badly affected. They’re really nasty and really hard to kill. |

My only experience of bedbugs was at a hotel in Bucurest in the late 70s, which had been assigned to me on a British Council tour during the dark Ceausescu days. I complained and was assigned somewhere better. But it took a while for the bumps to go down. |

I walked the Camino de Santiago in 2014. The first night I slept in a boarding house in St Jean Pied de Port at the foot of trhe Pyrenees on the border beween France and Spain. The bed looked clean in the light but as soon as the light went out the buggers were swarming everywhere. I woke up the landlady and slept on her couch. |
