EasyOS

Have any RISC OS users dabbled with EasyOS? Apparently this variety of Linux can run on an Rpi4 and from what I have read about its user-interface philosophy it might well be more appealing to RISC OS users than most others. |

If it could run a NAS that RISCOS (running on another Pi4) and recent MacOSes could access reliably, I’d be VERY interested…should I try to follow it up? |

Gavin; I don’t see it as any smaller hurdle to overcome than any other Linux as far as RISC OS die hards are concerned. Clive; any Linux distro can do that, I would recommend sticking to Raspberry Pi OS, full or Lite, as there will be far more support for that on the Pi than other niche distros. |

Cheers, David – I’ll give that a whirl. I’ve been using USB sticks to transfer files between the Mac and the Pi since the Mac’s latest OS update stuffed all my other methods up. Well – not all: I can put things in a private directory on my website from the Mac, and download them to the Pi, but can’t do that in the other direction. |

Clive, have you tried pairdrop.net ? I use it to transfer files between my Rpi5 and PinebookPro. |

There’s always pCloud. Up to 10gb free cloud storage, runs on Windows, macOS and can be used on RISC OS via CloudFS (from Elesar or via the NutPi ). |
