For Japanophiles, I thought I should point out that this time of year is when NHK World do their Viewer’s Choice programming, rebroadcasting the best/most interesting programmes as voted by the viewers. https://www.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/vc13/index.html There is an HD version of NHK World on Sky/Freesat (11224V/HD; Sky 507, FreeSat 209, Virgin Cable 625). I receive my SD broadcast from a slave LNB pointed to 19.2°E <(11509V/SD). Or if you don’t plan on recording anything, most of the broadcasts should be available for live streaming to a tablet (via an app) or a computer (try this). Of interest to me are:
Oh, and if you like girls that dress like Madoka and shocking amounts of pink, Kawaii International has you covered on December 29th; looks like a bunch of non-Japanese trying to be Japanese Kawaii. Did I mention there’s a lot of pink? Perhaps one for the girls….. |

Thanks for the nice tip, Rick. For people who like to watch NHK world via their media player like vlc or XBMC this is the url of the livestream: |

Nice to see some Japanophiles here :-) Been there three times already and of course visited the Ghibli Museum, which is totally great if you like their movies. One can also see original drawings of that super old “Heidi” anime. Besides that anything anime related can always be found on http://anidb.net |
