Alternative history

Just returned from visiting relatives in Denmark. The availability of
safe affordable high-standard housing for all, the long term
planning, and the trust in science (yes, experts!) make me ashamed of
my country. Could we not give it back to the Danes? Actually, I do not
think they would want it now.

My return involved a train journey from Esbjerg to Copenhagen. As
the train crossed the Lille Belt an announcement told us that a lorry
had been involved in an accident, and was hanging from a bridge over
the railway line, and in consequence the part of the journey from
Slagelse to Ringsted would be by bus. I think we were half an hour
late overall. This was an unusual occurrence for most passengers, but
not for me (thanks to Southern Rail).

Alfred, why did you not hand it all over to Guthrum? We might have had
a much better future.
