You are really giving too much credit. It’s more about selective enforcement, and lack of real choice for the perpetrator / victim (depending on perspective). A sad fact is many countries are guilty of absolutely atrocious things when it comes to border protection. This country of my birth is certainly no exception. The people involved here were around after to tell the story so odds are nothing too terrible actually happened to them. |

I think you misunderstood me. I agree 100% with the rest of your post. My comment that you quote was in the context of drivers being stopped and having a blood test, which someone else raised, not in the border control context, where I think blood testing is utterly inappropriate. |
