Is there a way of formatting a USB stick – to Linux format and FAT32 – so a RO can read the FAT32 section? With ref to a USB/Hard Drive – is there a way of partitioning a 1Tbye HD to FAT32 and RO format? What is the largest partition RO can now use? |

I have done this, but only with the use of a PC and MiniTool Partition Wizard. From memory (and a while back, so this may not be entirely accurate) I created two FAT32 partitions on the drive, the first one of 260GB (because it is slightly bigger than the 256GB that WAS the maximum RISC OS partition size – not sure what it is now) and one to fill the rest of the disc. When I had completed this and “applied it” I then deleted the first partition and then “applied” that, leaving an unformatted part of the disc. I then plugged it into the RISC OS machine, and used HForm to format a 256GB partition, which just fell into the unformatted space, but didn’t overwrite the partition table. Try that at your own risk, obviously! My memory may not be that good! |
