Hmmm, I’m not sure which is worse, a 485K 1826×1264 image being dropped on the forum, or your host’s load balancer thinking it can store cookies on my machine (they are set as if from your site).

For the cookie, my security nukes-and-notifies. That’s why my attention was brought to an unexpected cookie message when viewing ROOL.

For the image, what I (try to remember to) do is to resize the image to ~600 pixels width MAX, and if it’s on my own site, knock back the quality if a JPEG. This makes the image small and quick to load. If details are preferred, you can always link to the full size graphic. Remember, Safari, Firefox, etc are smart enough to resize the image to fit the forum. NetSurf does not do this, it resizes the forum to fit the image. Which is why right now the forum probably fits Gavin’s enormous screen, but not my titchy one.

If you use imgur as a drop for images, you can get a reduced size version of the image (once you’ve farted around enough to get a direct link) by adding an ‘m’ at the end of the filename before the extension. ‘l’ (‘l’ for large) might work as well depending on the source image.
