date of forum posting to display in search

Mar 6, 2018 3:43pm Jim Nagel (444) 25 posts	Could the forum software be tweaked somehow, so that when someone searches for something (via Google or Duckduck etc) and the search results include items from these Rool forums, the DATE would be shown? It’s frustrating to have to open these items only to find they are three or five years old. Actually, what IS the mechanism by which a search engine takes note of the date of whatever it finds?

Mar 6, 2018 4:19pm mikko (3145) 123 posts	Hi Jim, The following will search this site for all occurrences of the term “IIC” on pages that have been updated in the last year. https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&as_q=IIC&as_qdr=y&as_sitesearch=www.riscosopen.org If you experiment with the settings in Google’s Settings>Advanced Search you can discover other ways of refining your searches. Judging from other threads, updates to the forum software aren’t likely for anything non-critical.
